During the creation of 100 Years of Wedding Dresses, a photo/ video shoot were we teamed up with local Staten Island designers and artists, we drew a lot of inspiration from various wedding apps and from some of the biggest wedding blogs like The Knot and Wedding Wire. If you are looking for apps that will help to streamline the wedding planning process, and give you tons of inspiration for how to create a picture perfect wedding, these three apps are for you!
1) Pinterest
Pinterest is a visual discovery tool that is used mostly by brides to find inspiration for their floral arrangements, table settings, photo poses, and their dress/ accessories. You can create a board, which is essentially like a bookmark in order to save an image on Pinterest. You can name your board something along the lines of “wedding inspiration” or “my wedding” so that you know what your board consists of. You can browse through categories such as: weddings, hair & beauty, and photography. This is a great place to begin creating a vision board for what your special day will look like.
2) Wed Pics
WedPics is a great resource for collecting all of your photos from your special day in one convenient virtual photo album. Now I know what you are thinking, “I have not gotten married yet, how will this app help me?” If you have a friend who recently got married and say you loved how she set up her table, or her food, you can access her page as a guest and review all of your favorite moments from her special day to help you plan yours. And you can also use this app for a wedding check list, to list your bridal registry, and to keep track of who you have invited to your event and who will be attending. Wed Pics also has a blog that offers great planning tips as well.
3) Wedding Wire App
The WeddingWire app for Android offers plenty of tools to manage your wedding planning from anywhere, and it is a great way to research vendors and compare prices. Search through tons of local wedding professionals, read newlywed reviews, and get advice from other couples around the world. Browse galleries for the perfect dress, invitations, and jewelry. You can also manage your to-do list, budget, guest list, and more. This is the perfect tool for a couple who is looking for an app that can inspire them and help them plan their big day.
