A Bar/Bat Mitzvah is an important day in a young child’s life. They transition from being a child to an adult. A Bar Mitzvah is held when the boy is 13 and a Bat Mitzvah is held when the girl is either 12 or 13, and is held on the Shabbat (or Saturday) after their birthday.
